You have heard of the term "MEDICAL" as a
requirement or saw it posted in the halls of the Philippine Overseas
Employment Administration (POEA). But, what is this really?

This is a procedure for all applicants required for screening by the
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). All applicants
are required to undergo a compulsory pre-employment medical
examination (PEME) also called a pre-deployment medical examination
(PDME), before an applicant is cleared to go for overseas job.
In the Philippines today, hundreds of thousands of applicants
undergo pre-employment medical examinations annually before they are
