You have heard of the term "MEDICAL" as a requirement or saw it posted in the halls of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).  But, what is this really?  Ano ba talaga ito?  Dagdag gastos lang ba ito? 

This is a procedure for all applicants required for screening by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). All applicants are required to undergo a compulsory pre-employment medical examination (PEME) also called a pre-deployment medical examination (PDME), before an applicant is cleared to go for overseas job.

In the Philippines today, hundreds of thousands of applicants undergo pre-employment medical examinations annually before they are given go signals to go overseas.
